Cindy Makowski — scratch art instructor
Our Story
Hope first studied scratch art with Cindy Makowski at Oklahoma City’s Painting Palooza, creating an intricate fox while learning how the medium builds texture and contrast through marks and removal rather than paint. It was Hope’s first experience with scratch art and a fun reminder that useful artistic lessons can come from stepping well outside a familiar medium.

Hope studied scratch art with Cindy Makowski at Oklahoma City’s Painting Palooza in 2025. The class introduced a completely different way of building texture, light, and contrast by scratching into a dark surface rather than applying paint.
