🌅 “Tara” by Hope Blakely
A luminous tribute to one of the most iconic love stories in cinematic history.
Tara captures the unforgettable view of the Southern estate featured in the 1939 film Gone with the Wind—a story of love, resilience, and changing times. In this painting, Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler are seen standing side by side, silhouetted in the fading light as they look out over the land that defined so much of their legacy.
Painted in 2025 using the time-intensive glazing technique, the scene was built up layer by layer with thin, translucent oil washes. This method requires great patience and precision, resulting in rich color depth and a soft inner glow that makes the landscape feel almost alive.
