Justin Wozniak is a self-taught oil painter whose artistic journey began with the calming, approachable style of Bob Ross. Though he didn’t pursue formal certification, Justin developed a deep connection to the method — not just as a painting technique, but as a personal refuge. For him, painting has always been more than a hobby; it's been a powerful tool for managing depression and mental health, and a way to reconnect with peace when life feels overwhelming.
I had the pleasure of painting alongside Justin during a Dana Jester and Steve Ross workshop back in 2019. It was a memorable class filled with great people and inspiring energy, and Justin’s quiet kindness left an impression. Over the years, I’ve shared his videos with many students — especially left-handed painters — because Justin paints lefty himself, and it’s so encouraging to see someone embrace that difference with confidence and ease.
While Justin has been quieter on social media lately, his presence in the painting community is still felt. His past videos on Facebook, YouTube, and other platforms continue to offer support and creative inspiration for anyone seeking a peaceful way forward — brush in hand.
