Tuscan Lavender

12x16 oil on hard panel

Inspired by a Kevin Hill workshop (Clarksville, TN – April 2025)

This piece began with a Kevin Hill reference — one of the exclusive designs he teaches only at his in-person workshops. But like most artists who sit before the canvas, I couldn’t help but make it my own.

Kevin’s version leaned into soft blue tones. I shifted it to lavender — a warmer, gentler palette that felt more like me. His buildings were on the left, so I moved mine to the right. And instead of a perfect wall framing the walkway, I let it crumble just a bit — enough to hint at the story of time, wear, and memory.

It’s amazing how even when you're following someone else’s lead, your own voice still finds a way to show up.

✨ On August 13, we’re sharing a new blog about Kevin Hill — his journey, his family-powered art life, and why his work resonates with so many. This painting felt like the perfect warm-up.
